Throughout the village of Mount Angel, hundreds of runners and walkers will fill the streets, some wearing lederhosen, some wearing dirndls but all having laced up their running shoes for the Oktoberfest Road Race. Join in the Bavarian celebration with more than 800 participants for this fun, family friendly event during the world famous Mt. Angel Oktoberfest.
We invite you to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest. The Oktoberfest Road Race by starting your day with a scenic countryside tour around our village. Wake up with a cup of fresh-roasted Vul coffee, follow up after the event assorted treats at the finish line. Then head downtown and enjoy the rest of your day at the one and only Mt. Angel Oktoberfest.

There is extremely limited parking at Humpert Park. Please use street parking on the following roads: Birch Street, Cherry Street, Taylor Street, Elm Street, College Street, Marquam Street. Please be cautious of runners on area roads as you arrive and depart from the event.
Parking is also available at Kennedy High School (one block North of Humpert Park)* at 890 E. Marquam Street. From Kennedy High School,walk one block South on Birch or Alder Street to the Start Line.

What you get…a great race organized by race|NORTHWEST, a local Mount Angel business, friendly volunteers raising money for local charities. Free beer with paid registration for participants 21 and older. Redeemable Saturday from 11am-4pm at the Prostgarten located behind the Glockenspiel (free admission and live music).
Food and Treats at the Race:
Vul Coffee Roasters from Salem will be onsite serving up fresh brewed premium specialty coffee drinks. Purchase some before or after the race. As a special treat, random finishers will be selected to receive a coupon for a free coffee.

They will also have 12oz bags of freshly roasted whole bean coffee for you to take home, enjoy and relive the glory of the race. Varieties include: Guatemala, Sumatra and Hopscotch – $10.00 each.
Stick around after the race and enjoy bananas, bagels and an assortment sweets from Willamette Valley Pie Company including muffins and scones.
Our scenic courses begin at Humpert Park on the East side of Mt. Angel. From there, runners head out into the beautiful countryside surrounding our village. Runners will pass by hop farms, hazelnut orchards and nurseries en route to the finish. 10k participants will race around the base of the Mt. Angel Abbey before returning to finish on city streets. 5k participants will head out of town approximately 1.1 miles before returning to finish on city streets. The entire course is paved with some minor hills. This course is accurately measured. CAUTION: Another running event will be using some of the roads around Mt. Angel at the same time as the Oktoberfest Road Race. You may encounter other runners and additional traffic. Please be cautious! Our course is unchanged from prior years. We will have white arrows/markings and course signs at all turns.

Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers.
AGE GROUP DIVISIONS
14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over. Youth run participants will receive a finishers ribbon.
We strongly encourage participants to arrive early to pick up their race packets. There will be seven check in lines broken down alphabetically.

The event will feature chip timing. All participants will receive a reusable timing chip that needs to be attached to the hip on the outside of your clothing. It’s best to pin the timing chip on your shorts (either side) and must be visible at the start and finish. The timing chip and bottom portion of your bib number will be collected at the finish line by race volunteers.
Results will be posted at www.racenorthwest.com/results after the race.
The event will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we reserve the right to delay, postpone or cancel the event. All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
DIRECTIONS TO THE START
From the North:
Take I-5 south to exit 271 and follow state HWY 214 to Mt. Angel (Appx. 10-miles).
ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS from the North: From Portland heading South on I-5. Take Exit #282A onto HUBBARD CUTOFF RD NE toward Hubbard. Continue straight through Hubbard to Woodburn. Continue straight on Highway 99E (which becomes Pacific Highway). Turn Left on YOUNG ST (HWY 214). Bear onto SILVERTON AVE (HWY 214). Continue 6 miles to Mount Angel. Once in Mount Angel, turn LEFT on Marquam Rd towards Kennedy High School. Humpert Park is one block South of Kennedy High School off Alder Street and Birch Street.
From the South:
Take I-5 north to exit 256 and follow state HWY 213 to Silverton, then HWY 214 to Mt. Angel. (Appx. 14-miles).
ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS fron the South: From Eugene heading North on I-5. Take Keizer Exit #260. Turn Right onto CHEMAWA RD toward Silverton. Continue straight on CHEMAWA RD which becomes HAZELGREEN RD. Continue 8 miles. Turn Left at Stop Sign on MOUNT ANGEL HIGHWAY. MOUNT ANGEL HIGHWAY becomes MAIN STREET. Turn Right on CHURCH STREET at Fountain and proceed straight on CHURCH STREET towards St. Mary Church. Past the church turn left in approx. 5 blocks on ALDER STREET.
